In this subject pupils will learn some important aspects of the English Language. In primary one, the programme will help them communicate appropriately. It will also help them to be polite while talking with others and also be able to describe people and places. They will be able to read and write their names and short sentences. In primary two, they will be able to talk with others and to describe people and places using appropriate adjectives. They will be able to read and write their name and short sentences using the correct letter case. Finally, the skills acquired will help them to move to the next level of learning.

Mathematics is one of the fundamental subjects in every school curriculum in the world. This subject is very important because it help pupils build their ability to think critically about the world around them. Reasoning is the ability to think logically about a situation. Analytical and reasoning skills are important because they help solve problems and look for solutions. With a solid background in mathematics, pupils are more likely to experience subsequent academic success, regardless of whether or not they are dealing with social or emotional problems. Besides, in our daily lives, all we do involves Mathematics, like moving, dancing, eating, playing, engineering, nursing, farming etc. Also, pupils will discover that knowledge in Mathematics is very important in our everyday life. In this subject, pupils will learn about sets, numbers and operations, measurement involving time, length, capacity, weight and money. They will also learn about shapes, and different ways of presenting and comparing information

Science and the technology are at the core of every country’s socio-economic development. Introducing pupils at this very tender age to this subject area is very strategic in their future career orientation. The course has been structured to introduce them to basic notions in health education wherein, they will learn how the different parts of their bodies and how they function. They will also learn some healthy habits, basic first aids techniques and how to avoid HIV/AIDS. In Environmental sciences, they will learn little things around their homes and the school environment, sources and care of water, different types of plants, birds, insects and waste and waste management. While in technology and engineering, they will learn how some machines they come across on daily basis function. Further, they will equally be introduce to basic notions about types of materials, basic ideas in building construction, electrical devices and the dangers of electricity.

The course introduces pupils to the idea of teamwork and encourages cooperative behaviour among them. Moreover, the course has been design to help them develop practical skills that can assist them in handling their own personal problems; discuss with friends, family and people in their community. It will also teach them to be confident, to think positively, act and participate in the development of their community.
